Ephesians 4:6 (AMP)
From Him (Jesus) the whole body [the church, in all its various parts], joined and knitted firmly together by what every joint supplies, when each part is working properly, causes the body to grow and mature, building itself up in [unselfish] love.
The scriptures tell us that we are extension of the Father hear on earth. We have been sent with a clear mission and vision to be the carriers of the love of the Father to our world. We are on a mission to be a blessing to our ethnos and to manifest the glory and grace of the Father to those who have been committed to our care. We have been commissioned as the light of this dark world, the salt and preserver of the earth and a city of refuge set on a hill for all to see and run into. We have been strategically positioned on this earth with the very same assignment the man Jesus had whilst He was on earth.
However, we are not on a solo mission. The assignment given to us is not a one-man operation. Yes, we have the Holy Spirit in us and we can do the impossible, howbeit the Father has not given us, as individuals, the mission to reach the whole world, He only asked us to reach our own world; our own assigned portion of the job. We are part of a team. We are part of a bigger organisation. We have specific roles to play in the global vision and mission of this great Kingdom to which we belong and as the passage of focus clearly point out, the Kingdom of Light only grows when each part is supplying as designed to and is functioning properly or working effectively. We need to get this clearly; our actions and inactions do not affect us only; it also affects every other person in the body of Christ. We must always have the growth of the body at heart and work towards its growth, by being committed to our spiritual growth, and acting in line with the constant directives of the Holy Spirit.
Being part of the team also demands strengthening other members. Rather than joining the world to castigate and judge a mal-functioning member of the body, reach out to the person in love and try to help or at least pray (as though your life depends on it) for that person. The under-performance of that individual is also affecting your growth. There is so much the Father has deposited in that person for the body of Christ (by extension you and for the world which, due to that, mal-function is being held captive. It is not just the erring individual that is losing out, everyone is losing out. There are no division in the Kingdom of God; we are all one, even as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is one. To put it in the exact words of the Apostle Paul, ‘the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it’. (1Corinthians 12: 20-26).
Don’t join the world in scattering the body; don’t help the devil to do his job. Do not be a liability to the body of Christ. Be Wise, build up the body by playing your role effectively and strengthening the weak.
Loving Father, thank you for the honour of being part of your greater purpose and plans for the Kingdom of Light and for the world. I decide this day to work effectively for the growth and maturity of your body. I choose to supply as expected of me. I acknowledge I am part of a team and as such act/live for the good of the team. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
Luke 13: 6 & 7 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
Matthew 12: 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
