Joshua 1:9 (ERV)
Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave (bold). Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
When Jesus died on the cross for us and resurrected after three days, He gave us righteousness as a gift and declared us to be the righteousness of God, every whit at the approved and desired level of righteousness of the Father; for the Father hath made Jesus to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5: 21).
Now we know from Proverbs 28: 1, that the righteous is as bold (brave) as a lion and, as such, part of our heritage as the righteous is boldness, in contrast to the constant state of fear the wicked (unrighteous or sinners) are always in. We are not designed to be subject to fear, neither does the Father expect us to live in fear. He created us to be bold and confident. Boldness and confidence was conferred on us alongside the righteousness we received; it is more like a group package, and like every other spiritual gift, it is our duty to discover it, acknowledge it and accept you already have it. Our boldness and confidence isn’t a product of what we know or our action or what we have done or not done. Our boldness and confidence is of the Father and in the Father, for in God we boast all the day long, and praise His name for ever (Psalm 44: 8). It is founded on the simple understanding that the Lord our God (the Holy Spirit) is with us wherever we go.
Just as the Father said unto Joshua, even so He is saying to us now; ‘have I not told you before that I am with you always? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged.’
We have been given the power to create the Father’s will on earth, even as it is in heaven, with the words of our mouth. However, beyond speaking, the Father expects us to take some physical actions as He directs and we must be bold enough to take those actions even if, through the eyes of the world, we are unqualified, inadequate for the job or such actions seem silly, stupid or offensive to some people. Those that follow the directives of the Father always face opposition and resistance, from the world and even some well-meaning Christians; and we can be no different.
Other than when we are doing the specific work of the Father, we must move around with the air of confidence and boldness. We have the greatest being on earth dwelling in us and can come boldly (not timidly) before the throne of grace, why then should we cower in presence of a man, irrespective of his office, authority or affluence?
Walk with your shoulders held high, and your chest out; expecting the best. You have the Holy Spirit in you!!
I am the righteousness of God and as such I am as bold as a lion. I have the Holy Spirit in me and, as such, I fear nothing and no man. I am confident. I am bold. I am brave. The Father is with me and in me wherever I go. Hallelujah!!
John 5:17 & 20 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel Matthew 28: 20 … lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen
Jeremiah 1: 6 & 7 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
