(Lord Increase our Faith!)
*Continued from Part One
In the last post we saw how that Jesus explicitly stated that a faith as tiny as a mustard seed can do the impossible; and by implication, no matter your 'level' of faith you can do the impossible.
Today we shall be going depper in this truth as you find some life transforming truths.
You would be glad you read this concluding part
The apostles have been learning from the Master, they have seen more miracles than anyone before them had seen and have witnessed so many ‘impossibilities’ made ‘possible’.
So on a certain day they decide to make what they believed would be the most ‘spiritual’ request they can ever make.
And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
Luke 17: 5 KJV
“Lord increase our faith”, they cried, just as many of us do.
“Lord this challenge is big, I need a bigger faith”, “Lord I can believe for a car but I need bigger faith to believe for a jet”, “Lord, I believe you can heal but I need to study the bible more to build my faith to the point where I can accept you can heal me of HIV/AIDS or any other deadly disease”, “Lord, I believe you can heal the sick through me but I need to increase my faith to the point where I can believe I can raise the dead.
Whatever the variety of the category of the “increase my faith” prayer/ request you may fall under, let us see what the Master response to such prayers was, is and would always be.
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
Luke 17: 6 KJV
Could you read that verse again and perhaps again, until you find the answer to your request or complaint?
The Master is saying “the size of your faith doesn’t matter”.
Forget about the size, all that matters is having faith!
He is saying that the challenge has never been about ‘size’ of your faith.
More graphically, He is saying that ‘faith’ doesn’t grow!!
Once you have the faith of God (which is complete at all times) that is all you need.
What is faith?
Faith in this context refers to our ability to believe and trust the Father or better put what empowers us to believe and trust in the Father.
(Learn what faith really is here, it may not be what you think it is)
Please note that the word ‘faith’ in some of its appearance in the bible does not mean the above.
Sometimes, it is used refer to the ‘Christian walk’, ‘belief’, or even ‘persuasion / conviction’ amongst other contextual meanings.
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have the faith of God
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mark 11: 22 – 23
As long as doing the impossible and exploits is concerned, all you need is the ‘faith of God’ to achieve the impossible and this faith doesn’t grow because it is received in its fullness.
The faith you have is more than enough to raise the dead, heal the sick and be healed.
The faith you have is more than sufficient to do and to experience what eyes are yet to see, ears yet to hear and hearts yet to conceive, that is, if you have the faith of God.
How then can you get this faith of God or God-kind of faith?
