The Only Five Things The Father demands from His children Part 4

November 12, 2015

To Serve Him

The Father demands that you serve Him; and that you serve Him with your all (everything). Serving God is far greater than being a new creature in Christ Jesus, praying to Him, going to church, attending meetings for edification in the faith and performing other religious rites/acts.

Nay! Serving the Father implies first and foremost living your life as an act of worship and above all living life as a servant.

Living your life as an act of worship

Worship is not about singing, bowing down and the like. Worship was never meant to be an activity, an independent act, but a lifestyle, interwoven with life like breathing is. Worship is all first proclaiming the beauty and glory of the Father and then surrendering to Him (permit me to call them the pillars of worship). In the absence of any of the two pillars of worship, ‘worship’ does not qualify to be called ‘worship’.

Your life on earth must be all about bringing glory to and giving glory to the name of the Father. How can I achieve this? Aim for excellence (perfection) in all that you do and commit to bearing much fruits.

Living your life as a servant

Of the many things the Holy Spirit has told me in the past few years I committed to walking with Him, one of His statements that is ever near in my mouth is His explanation that ‘ you are as much a servant as you are a son. As a son you are heir of all but as a servant you are just a steward. As a son your opinion matters but as a servant it doesn’t. It takes wisdom to know when to act as a son or as a servant’.

Now a steward owns nothing and lives in accountability to his master; this is what living as a servant (or serving the Father) is all about. To live as a servant means to live with the mindset and understanding that the Father owns you (as a man owns a slave) and that doing as commanded is not a choice but a factor on which your life and stewardship depends. It is being able to see our ‘loving and doting’ Father also as a ‘demanding’ Master.

A close look around would make you agree with me that this is what makes all difference between men of exploits (in the Kingdom) and the ever stunted (never growing) babies of the Kingdom!!

Are you really serving the Father?
