Love is one of the most common human traits and yet the most difficult to comprehend. It is one of the most difficult expressions to explain. We may be able to understand the expressions of love but love itself is an invisible force that defies logic. We may be able to tell what and who we love but why we love is often lost on us.
Despite how 'mysterious' love may be, one thing is certain; love is incomplete without a recipient. There can be no (expression of) love except there is an object of that love. This is also very true concerning God's love. Despite how endless, unconditional, awesome and great His love is, it is incomplete until you experience it.
God offers eternal life, as an expression of His love, to everyone. But though this offer is open to all, it is not an invitation addressed to 'whom it may concern'. He has a special invitation card with your name on it.
He knows you by name. He loves you just as you are and He values you more than every other person or thing.*
There is a 'you-shaped' hole in God's love and He is patiently waiting for you to fill it.
Luke 15: 4 - 7 Suppose one of you has one hundred sheep, but one of them gets lost. What will you do? You will leave the other ninety-nine sheep there in the field and go out and look for the lost sheep. You will continue to search for it until you find it. And when you find it, you will be very happy... In the same way, I tell you, heaven is a happy place when one sinner decides to change. There is more joy for that one sinner than for 99 good people who don’t need to change. [ERV]
